INTRODUCTION

Maria D Hästö is a Finnish artist and illustrator with a background in artisan crafts, graphic design, and tourism. While working at the Hanko Tourist Office, she received her first illustration commission—an opportunity that inspired her to establish her own illustration business.Maria began by illustrating the familiar places and scenery of Hanko, and in 2026 turned her attention to Helsinki and its cityscapes.

Her detailed and expressive work combines traditional and digital techniques, including watercolor, oil painting, and vector art. Inspiration comes from travels, personal photographs, nature walks, and kitesurfing adventures.
