Maria D Hästö is a Finnish artist and illustrator with a background in artisan crafts and graphic design, as well as a degree in tourism. She discovered her dream role while working at the Hanko Tourism office, where she received her first illustration commission, an opportunity that led her to establish her own illustration business.

She began by illustrating recognizable locations in Hanko, capturing the town’s unique atmosphere and charm. This year, she has turned her focus to Helsinki, interpreting the capital’s cityscapes through her distinctive style.

Maria combines a variety of techniques, including watercolor, oil painting, and vector art, to create detailed, expressive, and distinctive pieces.

She draws inspiration from her travels, personal photo collections, nature walks, and kitesurfing adventures, all of which bring a vibrant and personal touch to her art.
